Large description:

The purpose of the Temporary Accommodation Officer role will be to promote and implement the Council’s Temporary Accommodation Schemes such as PSL/Hotels/HALS/PLA/Temporary to Permanent/CHOICE/Bed & Breakfast/SHORT LIFE etc, including acquisition, letting (where necessary) and management both direct and indirect. Participate and develop in the above and other schemes as directed. And also to provide and oversee a management function for the Council’s temporary accommodation stock.



As Temporary Accommodation Officer you will be responsible for the following:

• Promotion - Of clients schemes
• Acquisitions of emergency accommodation
• Bed & Breakfast
• Temp to Perm Schemes
• Social welfare
• General TA Management
• Allocations
• TA renewals/lease expires
• Contract compliance

To be considered for the role of Temporary Accommodation Officer you WILL NEED a current CRB, as well as the following skills & experience;

Minimum 2 years experience working in an office environment

Management of different types of private sector accommodation

Knowledge of legal procedures relating to breach of tenancy, resolving tenancy disputes and the legal actions required to secure vacant possession

Sound knowledge of relevant Housing legislation relating to homelessness and housing management

Experience of Contract monitoring

Ability to manage multi project priorities

Ability to produce, prepare and present reports - Including presentation of numerical data
