Job description.We are looking for Highly Motivated and Enthuastic individuals to join our Social Care and Housing teams in Altrincham, Liverpool and Birminghan.
A brief synopsis of a recruitment consultants role;
A recruitment consultant is involved in attracting candidates and matching them to jobs in client companies in temporary or permanent positions. These jobs can vary from entry-level roles to directors and executives within the public sector. (Local Authorities, Registered Social Landlords, Regisitered Charities and Private housing or support providers)
Recruitment consultants work together with client companies, building relationships in order to gain a better understanding of their recruitment needs and requirements. They attract candidates by drafting advertising copy and using a wide range of media. They screen candidates, interview them, do background checks, including criminal records checks, obtain references, access their suitability to our clients and finally make recommendations to clients.
Consultants also provide advice to both clients and candidates on salary levels, training requirements and career opportunities.
Typical work activities
A recruitment consultant\'s role is demanding and diverse, involving:
Using sales, business development and marketing techniques in order to attract business from client companies and competitors.
Build and expand on relationships with existing clients
Develop a good understanding of what each client companies do and their work culture;
* advertising vacancies appropriately by drafting and placing adverts using a wide range of media (e.g. newspapers, websites, magazines);
* Headhunting - identifying and approaching suitable candidates;
* Receiving and reviewing applications, managing interviews and short-listing candidates;
* checking references and suitability of applicants before referral to employers for interview;
* Arrange interviews for the right candidates with the clients;
* Preparing candidates CV\'s and correspondence to forward to clients in respect of suitable applicants;
* Informing candidates about the results of their interviews and preparing letters of appointment;
* negotiating pay and salary rates and finalising arrangements between client and candidates;
* offering advice to both clients and candidates on pay rates, training and career progression; reviewing recruitment policies to ensure effectiveness of selection techniques and recruitment programmes.
