Large description:

Job Purpose

To maximise the Association’s income and ensure speedy and equitable resolution of rent arrears casework relating to both existing and former tenants by providing a cost effective and efficient rent control and debt collection service in Manchester (South)

Main Duties

1.    To comply with the Associations’ existing policies and procedures.

2.    To carry out effective monitoring of tenancies from sign-up to NSP (Notice Seeking Possession) stage, in accordance with Departmental targets.

3.    On the expiry of NSPs, to prepare the necessary court paperwork and issue.

4.    To process account changes such as housing benefit re-claims and tenant refund requests.

5.    To advise tenants of changes in housing benefit entitlement of which we are aware.

6.    To liaise with Local Authority housing benefit sections.

7.    To refer cases for welfare benefit advice as appropriate.

8.    To produce statistical information as required.

9.    To provide rent statements, paying in books and swipecards as requested by customers.

10.    To provide duty rota cover.

11.    To keep the computerised diary system up to date.

12.    To investigate and resolve account errors, ensuring all necessary amendments are made.

13.    To liaise with external organisations and internal departments, including IT and Finance, as appropriate.

14.    To undertake home visits as required.

15.    To comply with the Association’s policies and practices particularly with regard to equality of opportunity.

16.    To apply for bailiff warrants on instruction.

17.    To provide eviction updates and to prepare reports for the Area Manager as requested.

18.    To perform any other duties as may reasonably be requested.

Previous experience within income/rent recover essential. Ideally within a Local Authority or RSL.

Salary: £12-15 per hour
Hours: 35 per week (Flexi time in operation)
